Information we collect

We collect contact information (name, email, phone number), property information (address, estimated home value), mortgage details (current balance, interest rate, monthly payment, remaining term), financial goals, uploaded documents such as mortgage statements if you choose to upload them, usage data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URL), marketing attribution data (see below), and consent records (timestamp, consent text version, and source of submission).

How we use your information

We use your data to generate personalized loan product comparisons, connect you with a licensed mortgage loan officer at SHIELD HOME LOANS INC, provide rate updates and relevant loan information you request, coordinate appointments, deliver transactional results emails, improve our tools and services, measure and improve advertising and site performance, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Cookies, pixels, and analytics

This website uses cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. We use an essential set for core site function, and optional analytics and advertising technologies only after you grant the corresponding choice in our cookie/privacy choices banner. Measurement partners and their purposes, where configured, include:

• Google Analytics (GA4) — website usage measurement and audience insights.
• Google Ads — advertising conversion measurement and attribution.
• Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) — advertising measurement.
• Meta Conversions API (CAPI) — optional server-side advertising measurement, used only if enabled; deduplicated with browser events using a non-personal event ID.
• Bonzo — CRM and permitted call/text follow-up with a licensed loan officer.
• Resend — transactional email delivery (e.g., your comparison results link).

We do not state that a vendor is active unless it has been configured. A vendor's processing of your data on our behalf is a service-provider function, not a sale of your personal data. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Marketing attribution

When you arrive from an ad or link, we may capture first-touch and last-touch attribution parameters — including utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content, gclid (Google click ID), fbclid (Meta click ID), the landing page, and referring URL. These are saved with your comparison request so we can measure which ads and pages lead to completed comparisons, and are forwarded to our CRM (Bonzo) where its field mapping supports them. gclid and fbclid are ad click identifiers used for ad attribution, not personal contact details.

Your choices and consent

You can manage your Essential, Analytics, and Advertising cookie choices at any time via the "Privacy Choices" link in the footer. We apply Google Consent Mode v2-compatible defaults and updates when Google tags are configured; optional analytics and advertising tags are not loaded before you grant the matching choice. You can also disable cookies through your browser settings.

SMS opt-in

SMS opt-in is optional, checkboxes are unchecked by default, and consent is not required for any purchase or loan. Message frequency may vary; message and data rates may apply. Text HELP for help, or reply STOP to opt out. SMS text messages are sent only when you separately opt in using the optional SMS consent checkbox. There are two optional checkboxes — one for marketing messages and one for non-marketing messages — both unchecked by default. SMS opt-in is collected only for SHIELD HOME LOANS INC. We do not sell or share SMS opt-in data with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

Email communications

Transactional emails (such as your comparison results link) are sent regardless of marketing consent because they relate to a request you initiated. Marketing emails are sent only when you opt in, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe method. Email preferences are optional and do not affect your ability to receive a comparison.

Data retention and security

We retain personal data only as long as needed to provide our services and comply with legal obligations. All data is transmitted over HTTPS (SSL/TLS encryption). Access is restricted to authorized personnel. Mortgage statement uploads are stored securely and used solely for extracting loan details. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Your rights

You may request access to or correction of your personal data, request deletion, opt out of marketing communications at any time (reply STOP to texts or use the unsubscribe link in emails), revoke SMS consent, or update your cookie choices.
